The qmgr utility accepts no arguments. Instead, it accepts a series of commands that it processes interactively. The utility also accepts input from stdin if no console exists. Most of the commands' arguments can be local or remote. The syntax for the arguments is described in Name Syntax. Exceptions are noted in the command descriptions.

The qmgr utility returns a message to the user after each line of input indicating the success or failure of the command. The return value will not be set when qmgr exits.
