After you have imported the PAS Topology asset model, you can schedule and execute an import for the first time. For each asset, Integrity must be instructed to perform the import and subsequent processing of data. Typically, this procedure is run on a regular schedule that coincides with potential periodic updates of newly collected data. This asset model uses the information collected for other assets, so you need to run the PAS Topology import sequence once to incorporate the latest collected data into the PAS Topology view.

The Schedules link opens the Schedule Imports window, where you can create a schedule for each data import per data source and view the status of imports. For more information about scheduling imports and monitoring the progress of these imports, see Scheduling Data Imports.

Since the PAS Topology asset model relies heavily on Network Devices and PAS Recon data, you should schedule the import for Network Devices and PAS Recon data as a unit. The PAS Topology asset model automatically processes newly imported data to synchronize the displayed data as needed. If you see unexpected results in the PAS Topology view, make sure your Network Devices and PAS Recon data is up to date.

To run the Process Topology Data import sequence:

  1. In the Admin Utility, click the Schedules link.

  2. Click Add to open the Schedule Properties window and add a new schedule. This window provides several tabs: General, Sequences, and Schedule.

  3. On the General tab, type a name for the task and the name of the Integrity server or data collector importing the data. By default, the Enabled option is selected to indicate that the import should proceed at the scheduled time.

  4. Click on the Sequences tab to configure import tasks.

    1. Choose the Topology asset in the Asset field. A list of assets that have not been scheduled is available by clicking the Schedule button.

    2. Select Process Topology Data in the Definition list, and then click the > button to move it into the Sequence box.

  5. Click the Schedule tab, check the Run now check box to run the import immediately.

  6. Click OK. All scheduled imports are listed on the Schedule Imports and Monitor Progress window. Click the plus sign (+) next to each import schedule to see the import tasks included in it. Notice the Percent Complete column for each task. The web application should not be launched until all data imports have successfully completed.

After configuring the PAS Topology Asset model to display Risk Analytics data in Cyber Integrity, explore your data from the Topology menu.
