Policy Management allows you to create policies to audit object properties against a desired standard. This powerful capability measures compliance of assets, as imported into Integrity, with the organization policy and provides the following features:

  • A web interface for monitoring and reporting compliance.

  • An electronic means of gathering and maintaining records of compliance.

  • An online process to define policy and identify systems covered by the policy, thereby eliminating paper-based systems.

  • The ability to automate the data collection process through reporting to reduce management overhead for compliance.

  • Change tracking for historical data and reference.

Once you import the PAS Policies asset model, you can create the policies you need, assign a monitored system to use as a benchmark, and then run and evaluate the results. When you create a policy, you select the asset for that policy. In this way, each policy is defined for one asset. If you want to define a standard that applies to multiple assets, use baselines to define the standard for each risk level and to evaluate those baselines. For more information about baselines, see Understanding Baseline Management†on page 211.
