You can use Configuration Manager to create new object types in the asset hierarchy. These object types and their properties can be used by functions, such as the GetLocations function, to define the location for a workflow case. At a minimum, you should create one object type for the root node and one object type for the location nodes, which can be used for workflow cases. For other nodes, you can use System asset Folder objects if you prefer.

To create a new object type:

  1. Open Configuration Manager on the Integrity server. To open Configuration Manager, run the following file:

    InstallPath\DataCollector\ConfigurationManager.exe

  2. Click CyberIntegrityInventory in the list at the top left.

  3. Select Synchronize with right pane at the bottom of the empty left pane.

  4. Click the Create and Edit Objects tab.

  5. In the Asset field, click CyberIntegrity.

  6. Next to the Object Type field, click New. The New Object Type window is displayed.

  7. Type the name for the new object type, such as Location, and click OK. The Configure Object Type window is displayed.

  8. Select Manually enter data, and then click OK.

  9. To create objects for the object type you created, see Creating Objects for the Asset Hierarchy†on page 196.
