I-Configure Version
6.0(2016)

I-Configure provides an environment for creating and managing the isometric directories, projects, and styles used by Personal Isogen for isometric drawing generation. The primary window consists of six components, each of which you can use to view project-related data or to perform a specific task

1 - Menu Bar

Click the name of a menu to display the menu commands. Many menu commands have equivalent keystrokes, such as CTRL + C for the Copy command, that you can use to quickly perform an action.

2 - Toolbar

Toolbars are groups of icons that provide rapid access to commonly used commands. They are an alternative to using menu items or keyboard shortcuts.

The I-Configure toolbar allows quick and easy access to some of the most frequently used commands.

New Isometric Directory creates a new isometric directory. For more information, see Isometric Directories.

New Project creates a new isometric project. For more information, see Isometric Projects.

New Style creates a new isometric drawing style. For more information, see Isometric Drawing Styles.

Connect to Isometric Directory connects to an existing isometric directory. For more information, see Connect to an isometric directory.

Disconnect from Isometric Directory disconnects from the current isometric directory. For more information, see Disconnect from an isometric directory.

Enable Project enables the project for use with the specified application. For more information, see Enable a project.

Copy copies the selected item and places it in the Copy buffer so that it can be pasted elsewhere. You can copy isometric directories, projects, and styles.

Paste pastes the contents of the Copy buffer.

Delete deletes the selected item.

Project Defaults opens the Project Defaults dialog box in which you can view and modify project defaults and attribute data. For more information, see Project Defaults and Attributes.

Export Style exports the current style settings. For more information, see Export isometric drawing style settings.

Help opens the on-line Help file. You can also press F1 to open the Help.

3 - Project View Panel

Displays the project hierarchy, which consists of an isometric directory (1), an isometric project (2), and a collection of isometric drawing styles (3), in a tree view format. Clicking the + and - boxes next to the isometric directory or project expands or collapses the tree structure, allowing you to view the available styles and make modifications. You can use the Project View panel to create, edit, and manage isometric directories, projects, and styles.

  • I-Configure uses the color magenta to display existing PipMan projects and styles. PipMan projects and styles (as read directly from the drive) cannot be modified in the software, but they can be imported.

  • You can also import projects and styles from other products. For more information, see Import Isometric Projects.

  • When you right-click an object in the Project View panel, the software displays a shortcut menu that provides quick access to the Copy, Paste, Delete, and Edit commands.

4 - Properties Panel

Displays the defined property values for the object currently selected in the Project View panel. Each object in the project hierarchy contains a set of related properties. For example, if you select an isometric drawing style in the Project View panel, the Properties panel displays a simplified overview of the key properties for the selected style, such as the output format, isometric type, and whether material and weld lists are displayed on the drawing.

The values that object properties own are determined by their purpose. For example, a value can be a character or a number, a filename or file path, an Isogen attribute, or some or other keyword used in an Isogen input control or output report file.

  • Alphanumeric - Click once in the Value box, and the type the alphanumeric value.

  • Path - Double-click in the Value box to open the Browse to File dialog box. Navigate to the file or folder, and then click OK.

  • List - Double-click in the Value box, and then select an option in the list.

  • Pop-up list - Double-click in the Value box, and then select an option in the list.

  • Some properties are read-only and are set automatically by the software when other properties are defined.

  • You can display a shortcut menu when you right-click an object in the Properties panel. The shortcut menu provides quick access to the Copy, Paste, Clear, and Edit commands.

  • You can clear the value of a property using the Clear command on the shortcut menu.

  • You open Isogen Configuration from the Properties panel. Isogen Configuration provides access to the nearly 1,000 Isogen properties that you can configure to customize your isometric drawing and report output. For more information, see the Isogen Configuration Help.

5 - Edit Button

Opens Isogen Configuration so you can set options for the selected isometric drawing style. Isogen Configuration controls all of the options related to the appearance and information content of the various isometric drawing styles. Any changes that you make can then be saved to the style XML file.
