Use search and filter to find what you want

In large hierarchies, it can be hard to browse and locate the items that you are interested in. To help, use the Search and Filter options, alone or together.

Search for an item based on its name

Start typing the item name in the corresponding Search box. As you type, the list of items is narrowed down to those that match.

Search for items based on cost distribution weightage (CDW)%

Click the CDW% filter next to the Search box, select a logical operator from the list, and type a CDW % value to further narrow down the search.

The CDW% filter is available only after you click the Edit CDW% ICON Edit Progress icon on the top-right corner of the page.

You can also sort the items

Click Sort by icon next to the Search box, and select ascending or descending depending how you want to sort the items.

If the schedule and cost items are already mapped

  1. On the left bar, click Smart Mapping > 5D Management .

  2. Click Edit CDW% ICON Edit Progress on the top-right corner of the page to edit the weightages.

  3. In the left panel, browse and select the cost item.

The software highlights the mapped schedule items.

  4. In the right panel, enter the weightages for work packages.

  5. In the middle panel, click Save.

  6. In the Update cost distribution weightage pop-up window, click Continue.

Notice that the cost item reflects the total distributed weightage.

You can also distribute the weightages while mapping

  1. Click Edit CDW% ICON Edit Progress on the top-right corner of the page to edit the weightages.

  2. In the left panel, browse and select the cost item.

  3. On the cost item that you want to map, click Options > Add mapping > Schedule.

  4. In the right panel, browse and select a work package.

  5. Enter a weightage for the work package.

  6. In the middle panel, click Map.

Notice that the cost item is mapped to the work package and also reflects the weightage that you assigned.

What does the red dot next to the work package indicate?

The red dot indicates that there is a change in the CDW% of that work package.

To remove the red dot

  1. In the right panel, locate and expand the parent schedule item.

  2. On the child item, click Options  > Allocate quantity & resources.

  3. In the Navigate to Scheduling? window, click Continue.

  4. In the Scheduling panel, locate the necessary work package and then click Options  > Edit.

  5. In the Edit work step panel, click Resources and review the changes.

  6. Select the Reviewed the changes made to quantities and resources check box and click Save.

The red dot next to that work package is cleared.
