  1. In Smart Build Controls, on the navigation bar, select Budgets > Original Budget.

  2. From the Project field, select Training Project.

  3. In the Original Budget tab, under Unapproved Cost column, click the hyperlink of the root item in the project structure.

  4. Go to Import tab, and expand the below window.

  5. Click Sheet and select Export to Excel.

  6. Open the downloaded excel and add resources to each line item in the project structure.

  7. In the excel, enter the line-item path ID in Object Path ID column and Cost Item Path ID in the next column. For example, enter MAT for material, LAB for labor and EQP for equipment.

  8. In the Resource ID column, enter the resource ID of the resource you want to add for this line-item along with UOM in the next column.

SHARED Tip You can use Resource Directory.xlsx file as reference to identify resource ID, UOM, and cost.

Single resources should be added in each row. To add multiple resources to single line item, add different rows for each resource with same Object Path ID.

  9. For resources of type Material, copy the Quantity value from BOQ extracted in Excel format from Smart Build Insight. For labor and equipment, enter the value in Hour column.

  10. Calculate the total cost of single resource and type the value under Cost column.

  11. Columns with names SB_CS01, SB_CS02, and so on are the classification structures published from Smart Build Insight. Enter the appropriate values.

  12. In the last column, fill the SB_UID value which can be found from extracted BOQ file. Check the line-item from project structure and trace out the exact item in BOQ file. In the BOQ file, copy the UID of that BOQ item and paste it under SB_UID column.

Rows with same Object Path ID should have same SB_UID values.

  13. Repeat the process for all line-items and save the file.

  14. In Smart Build Controls, go to Budgets > Original Budget > Import tab.

  15. In the Import Line Items window, click Sheet and select Import.

  16. In the Import Spreadsheet dialog box, browse the file you just saved and then click Choose File.

  17. Leave the Format as Excel, and select Import Rule for Incoming Records > Create New / Update Existing.

  18. Click OK.

  19. Click Save on the top right corner of the window.
