Data Take-On is a powerful feature of HxGN SDx2 which facilitates the seamless loading of data from various input file formats, particularly CSV files, into the digital environment. This feature is designed to efficiently handle the staging, validation, and loading of tag and document data into the HxGN SDx2 database during project handovers, brownfield data take-ons, and other data loads.

CSV files that contain tags and documents, are commonly used to transfer data, especially when contractors work offline and need to hand over their data in a standardized format. The Data Take-On feature is particularly useful for bulk creation of objects and documents, streamlining the process of data integration.

The Data Take-On process involves several key components:

Import Definition: This maps incoming data specified in the input files against the appropriate schema for loading into the staging area. It includes multiple mappings to align with the database schema.

Validation Rules and Rule Sets: These evaluate the imported data against a set of predefined rules to ensure its validity.

Load Mapping: This manages the correct loading of data into the database by using a defined mapping based on the database's structure.

Job Definition: This links together various stage, validation, and load components to define the process for handling a set of data. Using job definitions, you can create jobs that manage the automation of the staging, validation, and loading of data into the database.

Data Take-On is also essential for the submittal of documents and tags using the Submittals feature set, and for routing documents through the review process.

What else came out in February?

We have a lot of new features for you including PDF renditions with better visual quality, new reports, and more! Here's the recap:
