In September, we delivered new features and improvements to HxGN SDx2.
Quickly create your digital twin with the starter pack
-
The SDx2 Starter Pack helps you to set up your new HxGN SDx2 system. The starter pack is an Excel-based utility that generates XML load files that can be used to configure your tenant and plants. Importing the essential configuration data in these files allows you to quickly start working with HxGN SDx2. The starter pack includes the required information to create plants, the Plant Breakdown Structure (PBS), document classifications (and mappings), disciplines, material classifications (assets and models), tag classifications (and mappings), and tag classification column sets. You can load the generated files using Import Data according to your system requirements. The starter pack can be downloaded from Smart Community. For more information on using the starter pack, see Load data into your system. (4199767)
Easily communicate with external organizations
-
You can now use the Incoming Technical Query and Outgoing Technical Query work processes to support the communication between internal and external organizations. The Incoming Technical Query work process is initiated by an external organization while the internal organization begins the Outgoing Technical Query work process. These work process typically supports engineering questions and discussions. Because the discussion can take multiple rounds to resolve, you can use multiple revisions of the technical query. The different revisions track the progress and development of the technical query and support full traceability of the discussion. For more information, see Manage Incoming/Outgoing technical query. If you’re working with external partners who are sharing their documents using a different document management system, you can now use the Incoming Transmittal functionality to record their transmittals in HxGN SDx2. Your document controllers can load the documents into HxGN SDx2 and create an Incoming Transmittal using the external parties transmittal reference. The cover sheet is loaded to the created transmittal for future reference. The Incoming Transmittal can relate the documents and can be distributed to internal users to inform them about the received documents. For more information, see Working with transmittals. (4182225)

The Outgoing Actions work process now supports the communication between internal and external organizations, initiated by an internal organization. This work process typically supports engineering requests or instructions. You can use multiple revisions of the Outgoing Action to track the back and forth communication that complex implementations require. The different revisions track the progress and development of the action and provide full traceability of the discussion within HxGN SDx2. For more information, see Manage outgoing actions. (3294467)
Other updates
-
If you're an administrator, you are required to adhere to specific configuration rules to ensure successful upgrades, optimize performance, and simplify troubleshooting. For more information, see Configuration rules. (3766283)

Feature sets have been optimized to rearrange the order values of items to properly group them together within a feature set. The Business Administration and System Administration feature set content is now displayed more intuitively to present the interface for HxGN SDx2 users. This is part of a consistent approach for the display of feature set content. This only affects new installations and ensures that feature sets and their items are not reordered due to any language or localization changes. (4285836)

When importing data, you no longer have to wait for the import to finish before continuing to use the system. When the import has finished, you will receive a notification and you can view the results of the import in the History tab. For more information, see Import a load file. (4318234)

You can now use the client APIs SetObjectValues and SetObjectCollectionValues to update one or more properties of a single object or multiple objects simultaneously. For more information, see SetObjectValues client API and SetObjectCollectionValues client API. (4419920)
