When you create a scheduler task to synchronize assets to equipments, the scheduler runs a query based on the specified time and frequency and retrieves the detail related to the task. If the detail is created for tag synchronization, it checks the report and selects the respective assets from the report for synchronization.

Ensure the following before creating a scheduler task:

  • The Main Scheduler and Sync Scheduler are started.

  • A detail object is created, and all mandatory objects are related to it.

  1. In the Connectors feature set, select Create Sync Scheduler Task.

  2. In the Name box, enter the name for the scheduler task.

SHARED Tip You can enter a description in the Description box.

  3. In the Date Time calendar, select the date and time for synchronization.

  4. In the Sync Frequency list, select how often you want the task to run.

    Sync Frequency

Based on the selected frequency, the scheduler runs a query and executes the task automatically. You can choose any of the following options based on your requirements:

    • Sync Hourly - The scheduler runs a query every hour after the specified date and time has passed.

    • Sync Daily - The scheduler runs a query every day after the specified date and time has passed.

    • Sync Weekly - The scheduler runs a query every week after the specified date and time has passed.

    • Sync Monthly - The scheduler runs a query every month after the specified date and time has passed.

  5. In the Sync Detail list, select a detail object for synchronization.

  • A detail object can be related to only one scheduler task.

  • For more information about schedulers, see Configuring schedulers.

  • The procedure to create a delete sync scheduler task is the same as the procedure for creating a sync scheduler task.

How can I check if a scheduled task was run successfully?

You can check the processed scheduled tasks using the Scheduled Tasks entry point. Follow these steps after the scheduled date and time for the task to run has passed:

  1. In the Connectors feature set, select Scheduled Tasks.

  2. Select the task from the list, and then select Actions  > Details .

  3. In the Scheduled task details section, verify Start date, Status, and End date.

SHARED Tip If the task is failed for any reason, you can run the task again by selecting Actions  > Task > Retry Task. For more information, see Retry a failed task.
