For all the file types, when you click on the file hyperlink, you can add an action within a markup layer using the View and Markup page. This is a two-part process:
-
You place a specific image, called an action pin, on the file and describe the needed action in a form.
-
The Web Client creates the action, which will appear in the To Do list of assigned users when the QA Review is completed. The Web Client then attaches a changemark to the action pin, so that you can also see the action information on the View and Markup page.
Action pins cannot be associated with actions created using the Actions tab on the Document Review page.
-
Click on the file hyperlink.
For information on how to work with markups, see Marking up and comparing your files.
-
Click Markup , and select:
-
New markup to add the action pin in a new markup layer
-
Open for edit to add the action pin to an existing markup layer
-
-
From the expanded toolbar, select Image.
-
Click Image , and then click Image Options to choose the image your organization uses for action pins.
Even if several images are available, only one can be used as an action pin. Actions are only created when you choose the image that your organization uses for action pins.
The default image is GreenActionPin . However, your administrator might have changed it using the CreateClassObjAndRelFromMarkup client API .
-
Click anywhere in the file to place the action pin.
To move or resize the action pin, click Select , and click the action pin.
-
Enter the required information in the New Outgoing Action form.
-
Click Markup , and select Save Markup when you are finished. Then click Markup again, and select Close Review.
The action is created, and the changemark containing the action details is added to the markup layer and associated to the action pin.
You can also add an action interactively from the project communication feature set. For more information, see Create a technical query or an action.
