This functionality was modified in an update. For more information, see Download attached files (modified in an update).

You can download selected files and save them to a location of your choice.

  1. Select Actions > Save Target As.

  2. In the Select files to download page, select the files you want to download. The files are displayed in pages based on the total number of files returned.

SHARED Tip Non-viewable files are also displayed, which you can also download as required.

  • Save Target As returns all the files attached to the object independent of the default query page limit, such as the downloaded master file, any reference files, and any nested reference files. For each document, the master file and its corresponding reference files are downloaded together in a single zipped file.

  • Single files without any reference files are downloaded individually without any folder structure.

  • The maximum number of nested reference files that can be downloaded is set in the User Preferences. For more information, see Set the user options.

  • If you are not prompted to select a location when saving a file, the file will be saved to your personal Downloads folder or to the default download location defined in your domain user profile.

  • When downloading files that are attached to multiple documents, if more than one file has the same name in the downloaded zipped folder, the following scenarios apply:

    • If the duplicate file does not have any reference files, it is automatically downloaded in the GUID folder, inside the zipped folder. For example, if 2 copies of the file MyDoc.rtf attached to multiple documents are being downloaded, then 1 copy of the file is automatically saved in the GUID folder.

    • If the duplicate file has reference files attached, then the duplicate file along with its reference files are downloaded in the GUID folder, inside the zipped folder. For example, if 2 copies of the Master.dgn along with Ref1.dgn and Ref2.dgn are being downloaded, then 1 copy of the Master.dgn along with Ref1.dgn and Ref2.dgn is automatically saved in the GUID folder.
