You can see the differences between two files by comparing them in the viewer.
Depending on how the software is configured for your company, you can compare these
file types:
-
Hexagon 2D (.sma, .spe, .sha, .pid, .igr, .zyq)
-
CAD files (.dwg, .dxf, .dgn)
-
Word (.doc, .docm, .docx)
-
Excel (.xls, .xlsm, .xlsx)
-
PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptm, .pptx)
-
PDF (.pdf)
You can also compare different file types:
You can compare files with any relationship to a document, including:
-
Files attached to a document
-
Reference files attached to any of those files
-
Alternate renditions of the files attached to a document
-
Alternate renditions attached directly to the document
If there is more than one file that can be compared, you can tell which files are
alternate renditions from the information that appears when you pick which files you
want to compare.
To show files containing a lot of text, such as Word or Excel files, the software
uses a graphic representation of the file, like an electronic photocopy. That means
that the text is not available for the software to compare.
You can generate PDF renditions and use the PDF renditions for comparison.
