Project handover is the process of handing over information by the contractor to the client on project phase completion. This marks the change of ownership of the information and is usually a process in which the client checks for the completeness of the handover. Information is typically handed over in packages or segments.

Data books support the handover of grouped information and allow for completeness checking by different groups such as Operations, Maintenance, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), and Engineering.

As a contractor user or a company user with a Global Document Control role, you can create a handover request and associate dynamic data book chapters to it. To create the request, you need to first create a handover data book with dynamic chapters or subchapters containing documents and tags. When a handover request is created, a handover workflow is attached, and the company user receives the data. For more information on how to create and manage data books, see Create and manage data books.

Only the data that is accessible to you can be handed over.
