From update 23, SmartPlant Foundation provides support for a local SPF identity provider using the Authorization Extension for SmartPlant Foundation and SDx.
When you create sites and Web Client sites in Server Manager, the sites are already configured with this identity provider. This makes the application manage all user access so that you do not have to duplicate your users within SAM itself.
Alternatively, you can configure identity providers in SAM to work with external identity managers, such as SiteMinder.
You must check the default identity providers listed in the configuration in Smart
API Manager. If your external identity provider is not listed, such as SiteMinder,
you must add your identity provider to the list. For more information, see Identity providers.
