HxGN EAM Version
12.0.1

In HxGN EAM any user can be enabled to work in accessibility mode. In accessibility mode, the application is entirely keyboard-navigable and screen reader friendly.

To enable accessibility mode for a user in the EAM application, select the Accessibility Mode check box on the User Setup screen or My Account screen. Contact your system administrator for more information.

For more information on user accounts and settings, see the HxGN EAM System Administrator Guide.

While the EAM application is supported by many different internet browsers, we strongly recommend using Internet Explorer 11 while navigating the application in accessibility mode.

When accessibility mode is enabled, a good portion of the changes that occur in the application aren’t immediately noticeable by the user, however these changes play a big role in achieving an accessible environment. The DOM or Document Object Model for HxGN EAM has been significantly altered. Each field, label, tab, and link has tags injected into the rendered DOM on the screen. This allows for screen readers such as JAWS to discern between different field states, types of fields, and other on-screen objects.

To view the shortcuts available in the screen reader, see the software vendor's website, e.g., if the screen reader is JAWS, consult the JAWS application website.
