Permit to Work Setup - HxGN EAM - 12.1 - Feature Briefs - Hexagon

Use this setup screen to control duration and extension for a permit to work as follows:

1. Organization - Select the organization you want to control. You do not have to supply setup values for each organization if most are the same. You can use the default organization (installation parameter DEFORG) to create a default setup record for all organizations, and then enter only organization-specific setup records if there is an exception.

2. Risk - Select the risk you want to control. You do not have to supply a setup value for each risk if most are the same. You can use the * (All Risks) to create a default setup record for all risks and then only enter risk-specific setup records if there is an exception.

3. Maximum Initial Duration (Hrs.) - Used when the permit to work becomes active. Compared with the Duration (Hrs.) field.

4. Maximum Extension Duration (Hrs.) - Used when the permit to work is extended. Compared with the Extension (Hrs.) field.

5. Maximum Extensions - Used when the permit to work is extended. Compared with the Extension Count field.

6. Maximum Total Duration (Hrs.) - Used when the permit to work becomes active and when it is extended. Compared with the Duration Total field.

   

   • The system does not try to calculate this value based on the other three values you entered. You are responsible for a proper value yourself.

   • To find the relevant record the system searches setup records in the following sequence:

     1. Specific Organization and specific Risk

     2. If that cannot be found, then specific Organization and * Risk

     3. If that cannot be found, then default Organization and specific Risk

     4. If that cannot be found, then default Organization and * Risk

     If no setup record is found the system assumes there are no constraints on any of the fields.
