The ROLESECU installation parameter allows the system administrator to enable Role Security functions within the system. It is important to note that the ROLESEC installation parameter is not available upon release in HxGN EAM, nor is it created automatically upon any user action. In order to enable Role Security, a System Administrator will need to specifically create this installation parameter.
Role Security is not supported when multi-org. security (MOS) is turned off. The MULTIORG installation parameter must be set to ‘YES’ to enable role security.
The current value of this installation parameter has an effect on system behavior in relation to:
-
Assignment of a default value for the Role field.
-
If the Role field is protected or editable.
-
The appearance of a Switch Role button as a System Link.
-
The way in which the system determines permissions, menu structure; and page layout for a given User accessing the system.
-
The way in which the system determines values to include in any list of values (LOV) displayed by the system.
The current value of the ROLESECU installation parameter has the following effects as summarized in this table.
