In accessibility mode, the application will behave in the following manner on the user's interface:

  • The First Screen field in the User Setup screen will be ignored unless it is configured to a screen reader friendly screen.

We strongly recommend configuring the First Screen field per the accessible user’s needs.

  • The main navigational toolbar and menu will not be present. Any navigation from screen to screen will be conducted by pressing CTRL+F2 to invoke the Jump to Screen pop-up.

  • All tabs for a screen will be loaded into the tab bar. Tabs will not be hidden in the tab list.

  • The main toolbar utilized in performing common actions such as Save Record, Next Record, and Print Preview among other actions will not be available. The keyboard shortcuts for these actions will be active.

  • All screens will be loaded in full List View mode:

    • The user can then execute a Dataspy by pressing the ENTER key

    • Navigate the returned records using the arrow keys (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT)

    • Load the record into full Record View mode by pressing ENTER

  • The user can switch modes between List View (ALT+RIGHT) and Record View (ALT+LEFT) using the keyboard shortcuts.

  • While on tabs with fields, those fields with special formatting or lookups will display a tooltip next to them when the cursor is placed in the field. This enables the screen reader software to describe the field name, field value, the field state (required, read-only), and then will read the special instructions for the field. For example, a List of Values (LOV) field is only interpreted by the screen reader software as a text field. The tooltip appears next to the field when the field has input focus and instructs the user they are on a Lookup field and that they can press F9 to invoke the lookup.
