This install parameter gives the EAM administrator some control over a couple of Constraint Optimizer variables. The parameter defines the unit of measure (UOM) the Constraint Optimizer will use to calculate the Distance to WO Activity and Estimated Time to WO Activity when running its dispatching algorithm. Valid values are Kilometers, Meters, Miles, and Feet. The default is Kilometers.

The Constraint Optimizer assumes the crew/employee will travel an average of 50 Kilometers per Hour (i.e., 31 MPH). If CODSTUOM is changed to Miles, the Constraint Optimizer will assume 50 Miles per Hour. So, there is currently NOT a method to change the ‘50’ in this conversion. Only the UOM can be changed. If CODSTUOM is changed to Meters, then the Constraint Optimizer will use 50 Meters per Hour.

See the Running Optimizer Scheduler driver (job) section of this document for additional details on how this parameter is used.
