12.2.1

This install parameter gives the EAM administrator some control over a couple of Constraint Optimizer variables. It defines the unit of measure (UOM) the Constraint Optimizer will use to calculate the Distance to WO Activity and Estimated Time to WO Activity when running its dispatching algorithm. Valid values are KILOMETERS, METERS, MILES, and FEET. The default is KILOMETERS.

The Constraint Optimizer assumes the crew/employee will travel the average speed given below for each install parameter value:

  • KILOMETERS – 50 kilometers per hour

  • METERS – 3219 meters per hour

  • MILES – 30 miles per hour

  • FEET - 10560 feet per hour

For example, if CODSTUOM is set to KILOMETERS, the Constraint Optimizer will use 50 kilometers per hour as the average speed.

See the Running Optimizer Scheduler driver (job) section of this document for additional details on how this parameter is used.
