Create at least one activity per work order created above where the Completed check box is not selected AND Assignment Status is NOT equal to a value listed in the ACTDISCP organization option (statuses that indicate the dispatch work is complete and therefore, the activity will no longer be available for dispatch).

  • The Constraint Optimizer examines People Required for the WO activity and makes sure that crews with less employees are not dispatched to that WO activity (i.e., an individual employee will never be dispatched to a WO activity whose People Required > 1).

    • The Constraint Optimizer will dispatch the crew or employee for the number of hours calculated as follows:

Dispatch Hours = Hours Remaining / (People Required * Duration)

    • All data comes from the WO activity.

    • This same calculation is used by shift and dynamic dispatching processes to determine the number of hours to be dispatched to the crew or employee.

    • If the crew/employee have enough availability to cover the dispatch hours calculated above, the dispatch will be created for the calculated number of hours; else, they will be dispatched for the number of hours remaining in their availability. In other words, if there is enough availability to start the activity, the Optimize Scheduler will dispatch the crew/employee. In this scenario, the crew/employee would need to book the number of hours they were able to complete so the work order activity Hours Remaining gets reduced by that number. Because the activity would NOT be completed, it should be sent to the Constraint Optimizer for dispatching the next day for the remainder of the work.
