Close completed work orders. Unless you set certain system parameters, you cannot make any changes to closed work orders or book additional labor against them. You can create and close work orders for emergency situations.

To close work orders:

  1. Select Work > Work Order.

  2. Select the work order to close, and then click the Close WO tab.

    The system automatically populates the following fields, which cannot be modified: WO, Type, Equip, EqDesc, Proj, and PM.

  3. Specify this information:

    Equip - If the selected work order is a multiple equipment work order, you can choose to close the work order related to all equipment, work order header equipment, or one piece of equipment.

    Status - Specify the status of the work order.

    The CostCo, Dept, ProbCo, FailCo, Cause, and Action lookups show data that is in the current work order's organization and the common organizations for which you have access permission.

    Dept - Modify the department as necessary.

    CostCo - Specify the cost code assigned to the work order.

    Warranty - Select if the equipment is under manufacturer warranty.

    Safety - Select if this work requires special safety precautions.

    ProbCo - Specify the code identifying the problem.

    FailCo - Specify the reason that the equipment or component failed.

    Cause - Specify what caused the component to fail.

    Action - Specify the action taken to correct the problem.

    Target - Specify the target date for the work.

    The system automatically populates UOM, which cannot be modified.

    Report - Specify the date and time that the problem was reported.

    Start - Specify the date and time on which the work started.

    Complt - Specify the date and time on which the work was completed.

    DtHrs - Specify the number of hours that the equipment was down.

    DtCost - Specify the cost of the downtime to the production process.

    Close Comment - Specify a description of the actual work that was completed.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Click Yes.
