Setting up plan priorities for equipment is an optional step, but it will save you from entering a priority for each individual equipment that you include in the investment plan. Plan priorities for equipment are based on the equipment criticality or the equipment risk.
To use equipment criticality,
Enter a value in the Weight field for each record of the Entity OBCR (Equipment Criticality) on the System Codes screen of EAM. The higher the Weight, the higher the plan priority that criticality will get when optimizing the investment planning.
Make sure that the relevant equipment is associated to a criticality code. The easiest way to do this is attaching an equipment ranking of the type criticality index to the equipment. Of course, manually assigning a criticality to the equipment is also an option.
To use equipment risk, make sure that the equipment has the risk priority number filled in. The easiest way to do this is attaching an equipment ranking of the type risk priority index to the equipment. Of course, using the RCM features of EAM will also calculate this number for the equipment.
See the HxGN EAM Equipment Rankings and HxGN EAM RCM brief for more details.
