The Rankings tab has these important attributes:

  1. Equipment Ranking - You can select any type of Equipment Ranking on this screen and there is no limitation to the number of "Reliability Indexes" you select. However, you are limited to one each of the types "Facility Condition Index" and "Condition Index".
Once selected the system will display the associated Description and Type.

    Free text field.

  2. Default - Only available for rankings of type "Reliability Index". If selected the ranking will also display on the Record View screen. Consequentially only one record can be selected as the default.

  3. Lock Ranking Values - If selected this will prevent the recalculation of the Ranking Index and the Ranking Score. The survey will also be protected.

  4. Ranking Score - The numerical score for this ranking. Determined by the answers to the survey questions and the formulas that transform these answers into a score.

  5. Ranking Index - Once the score is calculated, the index is also defined. See the Ranks tab of the Equipment Ranking screen.

  6. Remaining Ranking related fields:

    1. Ranking Values Out of Sync - Indicates that the score and index were calculated before the Ranking Survey or the Equipment Ranking setup was last updated.

    2. Ranking Values Last Calculated - Last time the score and index were calculated for the selected Equipment Ranking.

    3. Ranking Survey Last Updated - Last time the Ranking Survey was updated. This only shows manual updates. It does not show automatic updates based on calculated questions.

    4. Ranking Setup Last Updated - Last time the setup data for the selected Equipment Ranking was updated.

    5. Calculation Error - Indicates there was a problem calculating the score and index for this record during the nightly batch job (CALCRANK – Calculate Ranking Scores).

Several fields on this tab are related to the automatic calculation performed by the batch job Calculate Ranking Scores.

  7. Refresh Every - Select the frequency with which to refresh this record, for example calculate score and index.

  8. Next Refresh - Select the date for the first calculation. The system will automatically reschedule and set this date for the next run based on the selected frequency.

  9. Refresh Sequence - You can control the sequence in which the batch job recalculates ranking records. For example, if the condition score of the parent equipment depends on the score of its children, then you obviously must calculate the children first and only then calculate the parent. Simply entering 1 for the children here, and 2 for the parent will handle this issue.

The tab also has the standard set of user defined fields.

Several fields on this tab are related to the automatic calculation of the correction condition score.

  10. Correction Score Ranking - A correction score ranking can only be entered for a condition index with a condition protocol that is not equal to ‘Condition Inspection’ while the selected ranking itself must have the ‘Condition Inspection’ protocol. If filled in on the selected Equipment Ranking, the system will default this value on this screen. Use this field if for example you have opted to determine the condition of the associated equipment based on age, but you want to do a 2 yearly inspection to gage the actual deterioration based on a checklist and possibly some survey questions and adjust the calculated condition score accordingly. Basically, use this field to automatically determine the Correction Condition Score of the equipment.

The system will always calculate the Correction Condition Score first and then use that result in the immediately following calculation of the Condition Score.

The selected correction score ranking is not verified for its score range. This means that you can select a correction score ranking where the score range, from 10 to 15 for example, is not compatible with the selected equipment ranking range that goes from 1 to 5. Obviously, this will not result in properly calculated scores. The reason the verification is not performed is that the ranges of either ranking can be changed after the relationship has been established. And ultimately the worst that can happen is that the system raises an error that the rank cannot be determined for the calculated score. At which moment clearly you are alerted of the issue.

  11. Correction Score - The calculated correction condition score will be filled in by the system.

  12. Correction Index - The index that corresponds to the calculated correction condition score will be filled in by the system.

  13. Correction Ranking Status - While performing calculations for the selected Correction Score Ranking the system may run into an error. This error will be displayed in this status field. If an error is encountered, it only influences the correction score calculation. The regular condition score calculation for the equipment will continue as if no error was found here. Errors listed here usually are related to bad setup of the equipment ranking, like a missing formula, a wrong formula, missing normalization data, a missing checklist answer, etc.

Some status values that do not constitute an error are:

    1. Completed successfully – This obviously just means the calculation was performed and was successful.

    2. No data (survey incomplete) – You can expect this error if not all survey questions to perform the condition inspection have been answered.

    3. No data (checklist incomplete) – You can expect this error if the work order checklist to perform the condition inspection has never been fully executed and completed.

  14. Actions:

    1. Calculate Ranking Values - This button will recalculate the selected record.
Depending on the selected record this may also influence the following fields on the equipment Record View:

      1. Condition Index, Condition Score, Facility Condition Index, Criticality, Criticality Score, Risk Priority Index, and the Risk Priority Number on this screen. And if a Condition Score was calculated and a Correction Score Ranking is also attached to the equipment this may also influence the correction score related fields like Correction Condition Score, Correction Reason, Correction Date, and Correction Usage.

      2. or the Reliability Ranking related fields.
