A screen from a custom application (ISA or ESA) may be added to HxGN EAM as a stand-alone custom screen.

A stand-alone custom screen is a screen that is displayed when an item on the main menu is selected. The content for the resulting page does not exist within HxGN EAM nor is it constructed in any way using HxGN EAM components.

  • Go to the Screens screen (BSFUNC).

  • Click the '+' icon in the main toolbar to create a new record.

  • Give the screen a six letter mnemonic and description. The mnemonic must be unique within the system (the system will make this check for you and let you know if the mnemonic is not available).

  • Specify a URL Path. The URL path has to be the fully qualified path to the web resource. It can contain certain parameters that will be replaced by HxGN EAM when it renders your custom page. These parameters contain information about the user that is logged in.

  • Unselect the Open URL in New Window check box. If this check box is selected, the menus and toolbar buttons will not be available on the custom screen.

  • This screen can now be added to the user's menu.
