On the Issue/Return Parts screen select the Transaction Type of ‘Return,’ fill in the remaining required fields, and then make sure you select Core Return after you select the Part. If this check box is selected the system will return the part to the quantity to repair in the store, instead of the quantity on hand. For the returned core, the system also creates a ‘Return for Repair’ transaction.
If Core Return is unselected, the system will do a regular return of the part to the storeroom and therefore no repair requirement is identified.
This same core return transaction can also be performed on the Parts tab of the Work Orders screen.
