The Compatible Units Accounting Codes screen allows users to define Compatible Units Accounting Codes records that may be associated with Compatible Units Library records; to be considered during the cost estimation process for generating FERC Unit Estimate records.

Compatible Units Accounting Code records must include required fields of Accounting Code, Description, Organization, and Regulatory Account. For example, a utility distribution ("DIST") organization might specify an accounting code as "POLES" with a corresponding description of "Poles and fixtures" for regulatory account "364", according to the FERC USOA guidelines.

There is no restriction that values specified in the accounting code, description and regulatory account fields must be mutually exclusive - that is, it is recognized that an organization may desire to specify accounting code and regulatory account as the same value, if desired.

Optionally, a user may choose to flag an accounting code as CapEx to indicate the accounting code is specific to capital expenditures, operations and maintenance costs; where those not flagged as CapEx are specific to operations and maintenance expenses only. Additional optional (hidden) fields on this screen are provided to support recording of the applicable GL account values that would relate to installation, removal, operations and maintenance, or salvage associated with the accounting code record.
