The Capacities tab can be found on the Assets, Positions and Systems screens and on the Equipment Class Definitions screen. The data on this tab is used to calculate the Capacity Rating.

The Capacities tab has these important attributes:

  • Capacity Code: Specify the capacity code that will be used for this equipment. Different codes can be used if needed. System Codes code the entity "CACO." When you define capacity codes it is recommended to include a unit of measure or similar in the description of the capacity code to make it easier for the users to be consistent with their data entry.

  • Capacity: The capacity of the individual equipment as it relates to the Capacity Code.

  • Desired Capacity: The desired capacity of the individual equipment as it relates to the Capacity Code.

  • Date Effective: Start date on which a capacity record becomes effective.

  • Date Expired: End date on which a capacity record becomes expired. This date is automatically maintained by the system.

Note that on the Equipment Class Definitions screen these fields serve the same purpose. For example, if you have many of the same it may be easier to enter data on this screen and only enter exceptions on the equipment screen.

On the Equipment Class Definitions screen, the tab has one more important attribute:

  • Total Desired Capacity: The total desired capacity of all equipment in the class or category as it relates to the Capacity Code.
