The search engine applies certain restrictions to the way search terms are looked up in the current thesaurus at search time. These restrictions are as follows:

  • Never look up words in the stopword file.

  • Only look up individual search terms. This includes words or phrases with embedded punctuation. For example, it includes install.sh but excludes word roots, any word generated by a root expansion, and phrases containing embedded spaces.

  • Only look up alphabetic words that have more than one letter.

  • Thesaurus files are limited to 32,000 rules.
