Select a filter, simple or compound, in the Tree view.

Select Edit > Create Shortcut

The shortcut is placed in the same folder as the original filter, at the end of the list of the other filters in that folder. You can move the shortcut to another folder or into a compound filter. See Move a Filter or Folder to the Clipboard.

You can create shortcut filters when you only want to maintain one version of a filter. For example, the shortcuts can be used in compound filters, while the original filter stands on its own. All changes to the original filter immediately appear in the shortcut filters.
