The migration process of locales between environments is separate from ECM Migration.

Since locale keys are based on the configuration IDs, it is important that the source environment matches exactly with the target environment. Any difference will cause missing translation. When a translation is missing, EcoSys will fall back to using the English string. The recommended process is:

  • Take a backup of production and restore to a development EcoSys environment.

  • Make the desired configuration changes.

  • Perform localization.

  • Fully test the configuration changes and localization

  • Migrate the configuration from the development environment to the target production environment using Configuration Migration. Refer to EcoSys Configuration Migration .

  • Migrate the locale files from the development environment to the target production environment.

To migrate your locales to production:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Application Settings > Locales.

  2. Click MIGRATE OUT.

The locale files will be exported into a zip file containing all languages on the system.

  3. Click MIGRATE IN in the target system to import the zip file to the production environment.

It is not required to REINITIATE EcoSys. All the Locales are processed through the synchronization to all the nodes and the new locale is available in all the nodes.
