This procedure allows you to manually add the project structure line items. When adding new data rows, do not choose Insert or Insert Multiple options, as this would not associate the project structure with the project selected – choose Insert Under or Insert Under Multiple.

  1. In the Project Structure Map panel, click the Rows list icon and select Insert Under. This creates a new row under the selected line item.

The Insert Under option places the project structure below the selected line item. If the Insert Row icon is used, the project structure is placed at the same level as the selected line item. Hence it is recommended to use Insert Under.

Do not choose Insert or Insert Multiple options. If these options are utilized, the project structure will not be added as part of the project unless the parent path ID is also specified.

  2. Type a unique ID.

This ID cannot match the ID provided to the Estimate Structure.

  3. Type the required project structure line item Name.

  4. Click the Type ellipsis and select the required project structure type. The available project structure types are listed below:

    • Contingency

    • Control Account

    • Planning Package

    • Summary Level Planning Package

    • Project Structure

    • Work Package

  5. Click the Parent Path ID ellipsis and select the required project structure.

  6. Click the Cost Control Level ellipsis and select Yes if applicable.

In the Project Structure Map panel, select the required project structure line item and click the Delete Row(s) icon to delete the selected project structure line item. An error message will be displayed if transactions associated with the project structure are found. This indicates that the project structure cannot be deleted.

  7. Click SAVE. The application generates Path ID automatically.
