Create links between cost objects which control the sequence of the events in the schedule.

A predecessor cost object can have multiple successor cost objects and vice-versa.

You can link the cost objects using the below listed dependencies:

  • Finish to Start (Default) - The successor cost object begins only when the predecessor cost object ends. The end node of the predecessor cost object is connected to the front node of the successor cost object.

  • Start to Start - The successor cost object cannot begin before the predecessor cost object begins. The start node of the predecessor cost object is connected to the start node of the successor cost object.

  • Finish to Finish - The successor cost object cannot end before the predecessor cost object ends. The end node of the predecessor cost object is connected to the end node of the successor cost object.

  • Start to Finish - The successor cost object cannot end before the predecessor cost object begins. The start node of the predecessor cost object is connected to the end node of the successor cost object.

This procedure allows you to create or update the relationship between the cost objects and their sequence.

  2. In the Project Schedule Details panel, click the RELATIONSHIPS tab.

  3. If required, click the Refresh icon to update the screen.

  4. In the Predecessors panel, click the Insert Row icon to add a new row.

  5. Click the Source Cost Object (Hierarchy Path ID) ellipsis and select the cost object with which you want to start the sequence of the link.
