This procedure allows you to view the project summary.

  1. Navigate to Projects > Project Manager Dashboard.

  2. At the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar:

    1. Click the Project ellipsis to select the required project.

    2. Click the Project Period ellipsis to select the required project period.

    3. Click the # Past Periods ellipsis to select the number of past periods.

  3. Click Refresh for screen update.

  4. Click the Summary tab. The Project Summary, Project Health, and Project Health by Period panels appears. The Budget and Schedule Variance appear in a bar chart format. The Percent of Budget Spent, Project Percent Complete, Project CPI, and Project SPI appear in gauge charts.

  5. To view the Budget Variance Drilldown, perform any of the following actions in the Project Summary panel.

    • Click the Original Budget hyperlink.

    • Click the Current Budget hyperlink.

    • Click the Current Forecast hyperlink.

      You can customize the view of the Budget Variance Drilldown spreadsheet from the view settings.

  6. To view the Project Details, click the Details hyperlink in the Project Summary panel.

    • Project ID - Displays the project ID.

    • Project Name - Displays the project name.

    • Project Manager - Displays the project manager.

    • Start Date - Displays the project start date.

    • End Date - Displays the project end date.

    • Alternate ID - Displays the project alternate ID.

    • Description - Displays the project description.

  7. To view the project manager details, click the View Project Manager Details hyperlink in the Project Details dialog box.

    If a Project Manager is not updated in the Project Setup screen or if the admin has not performed appropriate resource setup, an error message appears in the Project Manager Contact Info dialog box.

In the Budget and Schedule Variance panel, the budget variance and schedule variance through the selected Project Period appear in a bar chart format. The Over/Under Budget displays the budget variance for the selected project period and the formula used to calculate it is ((Current Forecast – Original Budget Budget) / Original Budget) * 100. The Ahead/Behind Schedule displays the schedule variance for the selected project period and the formula used to calculate it is ((Earned Value – Planned Value) / Planned Value) * 100.

  • In the bar chart format, click the Over/Under Budget bar to view the Budget Variance Drilldown.

    You can customize the view of the Budget Variance Drilldown spreadsheet from the view settings.

  • In the Budget Variance Drilldown, click the Period CPI hyperlink to view the Period Narrative.

    The Period Narrative dialog box consists of Period Planned vs Actuals and WBS Health Period panels.

    You can customize the view of the Period Narrative spreadsheet from the view settings.

  • In the bar chart format, click the Ahead/Behind Schedule bar to view the Schedule Variance Drilldown.

    You can customize the view of the Schedule Variance Drilldown spreadsheet from the view settings.

The Project Health panel displays the project health published for the selected Project Period. The available project health statuses are listed below:

  • 1 Not Tracking (Red) represents that the project is not on track to deliver per agreements (schedule, budget, etc.) This indicates that a plan should be developed to bring the project to Tracking status.

  • 2 At Risk (Amber) represents that the project is at risk to deliver per agreements. Remediating action is required to change the project health back to Tracking status.

  • 3 Tracking (Green) represents that project is on track to deliver per agreements.

The Project Health by Period spreadsheet always displays the most recently published project health and summary Key Performance Indicators. The # Past Periods parameter governs how many other historical project health statuses are displayed.

  • To view the KPI drilldown, click the Period hyperlink.
