If the organization utilizes P6 for its project management needs, projects will already exist in Primavera. These projects may be brought into EcoSys so that you can track and budget costs and other resource data. You can import projects using the Import Primavera Projects screen within the Integration menu. Considerations on importing Projects are listed below.
-
P6 Projects that you import into EcoSys are called Cost Objects.
-
You can map P6 projects EcoSys Cost Objects. Alternatively, you can create a new Cost Object on import.
-
You can assign EcoSys Cost Objects any currency (provided the currency exists within the global dictionary). You can assign the currency to the P6 project on import.
-
You can import P6 project codes as part of this process. In EcoSys, P6 project codes are created as Cost Categories.
-
You can set a filter on import to import projects based on the project status in P6 (Planned, Open, Inactive).
-
When importing a P6 Project, specify cost object custom fields under Import Custom Fields for Minor Period, if required. Click on the ellipsis, and then select the minor period. You must first create the custom fields in EcoSys. The UDF (custom field) mappings must be created in order to import them successfully.
