A project task is displayed as a rectangular bar on the gantt chart. A task appears for every project line item with an established duration. This procedure allows you to view a project’s existing tasks and add new tasks if required. The number of hours to be worked (Duration) on each task can be defined for each object row. Based on the entered Duration and selected Calendar, the Start Date and End Date of the object row will auto-populate.

If a duration is updated incorrectly, click Undo button immediately.

  1. Navigate to Projects > Project Schedule.

  2. At the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar, click the Project and Calendar ellipsis to select the required project and calendar.

The administrator defines calendars which include the time-zone, start time, duration, working days, and non-working days.

  3. Click Refresh for screen update. The existing tasks appear on the gantt chart.

  4. In the Project Scheduler panel, type the required Duration for a project line item. The Start Date and End Date of the project line item are auto-populated. A new task is created corresponding to the specific object row on the gantt chart.

If you enter zero in Duration, the task becomes a milestone on the gantt chart and looks in a diamond shape.

The task is spread from the start date to end date on the gantt chart.

    • You can also view the tasks and milestones of the project in the gantt chart based on the timescale by selecting the required timescale from the Timescale Unit list. If the Timescale Unit is Day, you can no more select Timescale Subunit anymore.

    • You can also view the tasks and milestones of the project in the gantt chart based on the timescale by clicking the Show Subscale check box and selecting the required timescale from the Timescale Subunit list.
