Categories are used to capture information that EcoSys manages as lists of specific values. The Category Values screen layout is used to maintain these lists.
Each category is "owned" by an EcoSys configuration object. Knowledge of the configuration object associated with the category is key to performing category value maintenance.
For example,
Configuration Object Category |

Category values are an attribute that may be assigned to several different objects within EcoSys. Categories are used to capture information that the organization wants to manage as lists of specific values, as opposed to free entry custom fields. These lists may be maintained for the following already created attributes (that is, EcoSys Categories):
-
Locations (cost object category)
-
Clients (cost object category)
-
Project Managers (cost object category)
-
Responsible Managers (cost object category)
-
Responsible Organization (cost object category)
-
Unit of Measure (transaction category)
-
Vendors (transaction category)
These are categories that come pre-populated with EPP. Additional ones may be added as needed.
