CADWorx Structure tab: Model panel > Connections > Splice
Place a splice connection between two members. Designers can place both web and flange plates at the same time. The two members that are being spliced together must be collinear.
Template
Load a previously created splice connection, or create and save a new splice connection.
General
Plate Data Table
Select the data table that contains the plate to place. The catalog contains information for all data tables. You can view the catalog in the CADWorx Structure Editor.
Material
Specifies the material of the splice plate connection member.
Group
Specifies the assigned group. When you select a group from the list, the layer automatically updates to the layer assigned to that group. The groups that display in the Group list come from the Group Manager in the Structure Editor. For more information, see Group Manager in the CADWorx Structure Editor Users Guide.
Layer
Specifies the assigned layer. Layers default to the assigned group. However, you can change a layer as needed. The layers that display in the Layer list come from the Layer Manager in the Structure Editor. For more information, see Layer Manager in the CADWorx Structure Editor Users Guide.
Splice Plate: Flange
Thickness
Specifies the thickness of the plate. Only thicknesses that have been defined in the SPRJ are permitted to be used for splice plates.
Flange Plate Length
Displays the length of the plate.
Flange Plate Width
Displays the width of the plate.
Plate X Offset
Specifies the X-axis offset from the plate centroid. Use this field to move the plate to the desired location on the connected members.
Plate Y Offset
Specifies the Y-axis offset from the plate centroid. Use this field to move the plate to the desired location on the connected members.
Splice Plate: Web
Thickness
Specifies the thickness of the plate. Only thicknesses that have been defined in the SPRJ are permitted to be used for splice plates.
Web Plate Length
Displays the length of the plate.
Web Plate Height
Displays the height of the plate.
Plate X Offset
Specifies the X-axis offset from the plate centroid. Use this field to move the plate to the desired location on the connected members.
Plate Y Offset
Specifies the Y-axis offset from the plate centroid. Use this field to move the plate to the desired location on the connected members.
Bolt Information
Row Count
Enter the number of bolt hole rows.
Row Spacing
Enter the distance between the bolt hole rows. The Row Count and the Row Spacing is centered on the plate.
Column Count
Enter the number of bolt hole columns.
Column Spacing
Enter the distance between the bolt hole columns. The Column Count and the Column Spacing is centered on the plate.
