Login user display options details

For more information about the options in this section, see Login user display options details.

Login user display option - Allows you to select how you want login user names to appear in tables and other places in the user interface. You can choose one of the following:

  • Name, for example, "Authoring Administrator"

  • Login Name, for example, "authoringadmin"

  • Both, for example, "Authoring Administrator (authoringadmin)"

  • By default, tree views always display both the login name and the name for users. You can change the display by modifying the SPFLoginNameTreeDisplay column set.

  • To change how list views display names and login names, you can modify the SPFLoginUserColumnSet column set.

Options details

For more information about the options in this section, see Options details.

Actions Menu Behavior - Allows you to automatically collapse or expand the methods and relationships in the Actions menu based on the selected value. The default value is ExpandActionsCollapseRelationships, which expands the Actions node and collapses the Relationships node on the initial load of the Actions menu. The other values are ExpandActionsAndRelationships, CollapseActionsAndRelationships, and CollapseActionsExpandRelationships.

Default notificationdef - Allows you to specify the notification definition used to create the notification sent to users who have registered interest in an object when that object is changed.

SHARED Tip The title of the delivered default notification definition is "Modified: name of the object", and the body of the message is "The class of the object object called name of the object was modified by name of the user who made changes to the object."

Default calendar - Allows you to specify a default calendar that can be used for reports.

Default user - Allows you to specify the default role access permissions inherited by new users that are automatically created by the system in a Windows Authentication environment. New users are automatically created when someone logs in using a valid Windows account for which no valid user account already exists. The username is the same as the domain account name of the user, and the default role permissions are inherited from the default user. You must configure a template user with the required standard access control you want new users to have, and set this as the default user.

Number of polls between scheduler last polled update - Allows you to set the number of polls after which the last polled time should be updated for the scheduler. By default, the number of polls is set to 0. For example, if the Last polled time value is 22/04/13 11:44:38 and the Number of polls between scheduler last polled update value is set to 2, with the polling interval set to 60 seconds, then the Last polled time is updated every 2 minutes (calculated as 2*60 seconds = 2 minutes).

Number of failed login attempts before the account is locked - Allows you to set the maximum number of failed login attempts each account can have in the system before an account is temporarily locked. The default value is set to 5. If set to 0(zero), the lockout functionality is disabled, and no accounts will be locked.

Number of minutes before a locked account will automatically be unlocked - Allows you to set the amount of time in minutes that an account remains temporarily locked before the account is automatically unlocked by the system. The default value is 15 minutes. The minimum value accepted is 1, and the maximum value is 999.

Enforce password policy - Allows you to force all users to choose a strong, secure password that conforms to the HxGN SDx security password policy. This ensures that every password must be a minimum of 8 characters in length and contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one numerical digit, and one special character.

Time Zone Format - Allows you to pick how you want to see the offset of your local time with GMT/UTC time. By default, you will see the time in your local time zone. Use zzz to GMT/UTC as a suffix to view the time difference of your local time to universal time with the one of the formats listed below:

Configuration options details

For more information about the options in this section, see Configuration options details.

Use Concurrent Engineering Icons - When selected, concurrent engineering icons are used across configurations and projects.

System explicit claim - When selected, all users are required to explicitly claim objects before editing them in a project.

System exclusive claim - When selected, objects can only be claimed once in a project, preventing them from being modified in another parallel configuration.

Suppress multiple views of the same object when querying across multiple query configurations – When selected, the number of duplicate objects displayed in a query is reduced when querying across multiple configurations.

Schema access control option details

For more information about the options in this section, see Schema access control option details.

Enable interface definition access control - When this option is selected, the software supports a fine-grained interface definition access control relating to owning groups. This has a performance overhead for operations, such as on a left-click, filling the properties grid, and evaluating methods on a right-click. This option is disabled by default to improve performance. For more information, see Interface owning group access control.

File management options details

For more information about the options in this section, see File management options details.

Nested reference file level - Limits how many relationship levels are created when a master document with reference files is uploaded, as they may also reference other files. For example, if a master document is uploaded with four reference files, only two levels of relationships are created if this option is set to two.

The number of relationship levels created using this setting cannot be overridden in the Web Client or HxGN SDx.

View Rendition File type UID - Defines the target view rendition file type for View Rendition Auto Convert. A view rendition will be generated for files related to the View Rendition File type UID using the SPFFileTypeFileType relationship definition. For more information, see Create a SPFFileTypeFileType relationship definition.

The default View Rendition File type UID is FT_csf. You can specify a different file type by editing the file extension preceded by FT_. For example, you can set the View Rendition File type UID to FT_pdf to specify a PDF file format.

View Rendition Auto Convert - If selected, a view rendition of any file type specified in the View Rendition File type UID is automatically generated for files related to that file type by the SPFFileTypeFileType relationship definition. The rendition file is attached to the related file and is stored in the vault. To view the rendition file, right-click the related file, and select Show View Rendition.

  • The View Rendition Auto Convert option is disabled by default.

  • When this option is selected, auto conversion becomes part of the Data Validator document loading process, causing load jobs to take more time.

Cyclic references allowed - Prevents the accidental creation of cyclic references. For example, cyclic references exist when FileA references FileB and FileB references FileA. Some CAD systems support cyclic references, but for those that do not, this option should be turned off.

Auto generate thumbnails - When this option is selected, the software creates a thumbnail image (PNG) for all viewable files when loaded into the system, assuming that the file type has a relationship to the PNG file type (FT_png). The thumbnail file is attached to the file from which it was generated and is stored in the vault.

The Auto generate thumbnails option is disabled by default.

File share default expiry days - Allows you to set the number of working days that the link for an offline transmittal will remain active. This option adds a layer of security, as the link to download the attached documents in a transmittal expires, based on the value provided. By default, the value is set to 15.

Transmittal default file type - If selected, the system sets the value as the default file type to be attached to the transmittal.

Auto generate WebGL viewer files - When this option is selected, the software creates a WebGL viewer file (.vecz or .binz) for all 2D drawings (.igr, .pid, .sma, .spe, .sha, and .zyq), and Intergraph Smart 3D models (.zvf and .vue), assuming that the file types have relationships to the WebGL viewer file file types (FT_vecz or FT_binz). The WebGL viewer file is attached to the document and is stored in the vault. A WebGL viewer file is required for viewing 2D drawings (.igr, .pid, .sma, .spe, .sha, and .zyq) and Smart 3D models (.zvf and .vue) in Hexagon web-based portal applications, such as the Web Client.

If an XML file with the same name as a non-published Smart 3D model file is attached to a design document, a label database file (.mdb2) is automatically generated in addition to the 3D WebGL viewer file (.binz). The label database file (.mdb2) is required for searching tags in a non-published Smart 3D model file using the Web Client.

  • The Auto generate WebGL viewer files option is disabled by default.

  • When this option is selected, auto conversion becomes part of the Data Validator document loading process, causing load jobs to take more time.

Workflow options details

For more information about the options in this section, see Workflow options details.

Recalculate target dates on reassign - Recalculates the target date of a workflow step when you reassign that step to another user or role or when you add one or more users to that step. If you do not select this check box, the step reassignment will have no effect on the target date of that step. This option is enabled by default when the product is upgraded to version 2019 and is disabled by default when version 2019 of the product is installed the first time.

Merge process steps on completion - When a workflow is completed or terminated all the consecutive process steps are merged into a single process step and the redundant steps are deleted. This can help reduce the database size.

Display workflow information steps - Displays any information steps in your To Do List. If you do not select this check box, the information steps are signed off automatically.

Allowable number of days to wait between e-mail - Allows you to set the number of days to wait between sending overdue reminder e-mails.

Allowable number of days overdue before expiration - Allows you to set the number of days a step can exceed its target date before the step is considered overdue. This number is used for the overdue steps report, and it controls the color of the To Do List icon. For example, when a workflow action is overdue (that is, the target date is reached), the To Do List icon turns red. Only steps meeting the criteria entered here are considered in expiration checks. For more information, see Workflow expiration processing.

Allowable number of days overdue before reassignment - Allows you to set the number of days a step can be overdue before it is reassigned.

SHARED Tip For more information about creating custom notifications to use in the following options, see Configuring email notification definitions.

Suppress all e-mail - Suppresses all e-mail notifications from workflow to recipients.

Reject e-mail definition - Sets the e-mail message sent to recipients when a step is rejected.

Action e-mail definition - Sets the e-mail message sent to the recipients when a step action is required.

Started e-mail definition - Sets the default e-mail message sent to the recipients of a step when that step is started. The delivery of this e-mail is optional.

Reassign to e-mail definition - Sets the e-mail message sent to the recipient to whom the step is reassigned.

Reassign from e-mail definition - Sets the e-mail message sent to the recipient from whom the step is reassigned.

First assignee e-mail definition - Sets the e-mail message sent to the first assignee.

Completion e-mail definition - Sets the e-mail message sent to the workflow submitter when the workflow is completed. The delivery of this e-mail is optional.
