Access groups are the primary objects used to configure security in a HxGN SDx system. You can edit access groups to control the different levels of functional access for users, such as method access to menu commands. An access group query can:

Compare one access group with another and edit the content based on the comparison.

Create a new access group and configure the content using an existing access group as the source.

Copy an existing access group and manipulate the content of the duplicate.
You can build an access group query by selecting Manage Access Groups as the starting object type to open the Access Groups Query Wizard. The main pages that display are:
Access Groups page
On the Access Groups page select a Target Access Group and a Source Access Group.
Target Access Group

Click Select an existing Access Group.
Type the name or search using wildcards and select an existing access group from the list.

Click Create a new Access Group.
Type the details for the new access group in the Name and Description boxes and select the required Configuration Statuses from the list.
Source Access Group

Select the name of the Source Access Group.
Type the name, or search using wildcards, and select an existing access group from the list.
Summary page
Review the query details in the Summary page. You can go back and edit the query details, or click Finish to run the query.
