The Create Tag Classification command allows you to add new tag types to the database.

  1. On the Tag Classification page, select Tag types node in the tree view.

  2. Click Create Tag Classification to open the Create Tag Classification dialog box.

  3. Type a Name and Description for the tag type.

  4. Type the name of a tag type in the Class Occurrence box.

    • You can specify one or more tag type names (separated by commas) in the Alternate Classification Names box. For example, if you specify EH as the tag classification name and EEH, EEHT as alternative tag classification names, you can associate the tag type with one or more matching tag patterns. Based on the relationship between tag type and tag pattern, the tags are classified as the tag type with the corresponding description.

    • The sample file DATA_TagTypes.xml has been updated with a new FDWTagtypes entry to support alternate tag classification names. The latest version of the sample file is available for download on Smart Community. For more information, see Find sample data on Smart Community.

  5. Click Save.

  • A new tag type will be created under the selected tag type.

  • If a pattern needs to be applied to all items under a parent node, then you can create the classification at the parent node. The classification pattern is created for all the nodes and sub-nodes under the selected parent node.
