Some of the options available on the Create/Update Display Item dialog box vary based on what type of display item you are creating or updating, such as edge definition, relationship definition, interface definition, or property definition

For example, the following image shows the display item dialog box for a relationship definition:

The following list shows the various corresponding options that are available depending on the display item type:

Display Item Type - This is the type of display item, such as EdgeDef, RelDef, InterfaceDef, or PropertyDef.

[Item type name] - This displays objects based on the display item type selected. For example, the image displays Relationship with related objects FDWTagModel and TagModels.

SPFRelDefDirection - Indicates the direction that the relationship definition will be navigated: 12 (from end 1 to end 2) or 21 (from end 2 to end 1).

Display item display type - This displays a picklist dependent on the display item type selected. For more information, see Display item display types.

Help text - Help text for the display item. (The text to appear when the cursor pauses over the display item.)

Dependent display items – This displays objects that are have a dependency on the display item type to control what is actually displayed. For more information, see Dependent related items.

Disable relationship hyperlink – This controls access to the object details displayed as a hyperlink on a form in the Web Client.

Override display for combos - Determines what information is displayed in the drop-down list for the display item. The options available are Description, Name, and NameAndDescription.

Property picture - A format for the display item data. The format can either be U for uppercase or any picture mask as defined in Picture mask types.

Default unit of measure - Default unit of measure to be displayed when the form appears.

Display units of measure - Indicates whether to display the units of measure on the form.
