The workflow template consists of a sequence of steps, where each step signifies an
action. Moving from one step to another step is determined by set of conditions that
are fulfilled by the appropriate step recipient.

General Details
-
Type a name and description for the workflow template.
-
Select the Delete Workflows On Completion option to automatically delete completed or terminated workflow instances from the
system. This can help reduce your database growth and maintain your systems performance.
Depending on your business needs, you can choose to set this option as you create
or update a workflow template to safely remove temporary workflow instances from the
database. On other workflow templates, you can choose to keep the completed or abandoned
workflow instances, such as if needed for audit or regulatory purposes.
The Delete Workflows On Completion option setting works asynchronously as a scheduler task across the system regardless
of the configuration. However, be aware that intensive database activity could potentially
occur deleting a lot of completed or terminated workflows.
Workflow Details
-
Select an appropriate user from the Re-Assign User list to whom the workflow step needs to be reassigned whenever the default user is
not available. This option is considered whenever the workflow is trying to reject,
or cannot reject, a step.
-
The Submitter represents the person who submitted the object to the workflow.
-
If multiple recipients are assigned to a step and even one recipient rejects the step,
then the object in the workflow is sent back to the user specified in the Reassign
to Participant property in the workflow template. However, if you use a voting step
to calculate the number of accept and reject responses, you can set a threshold that,
when met, allows the workflow to continue with the correct accept or reject path,
rather than being reassigned to another user.
-
A step is not reassigned to a participant if it has a single success step and that
success step is not a voting step.
-
Select a condition from the Condition (Optional) list that must be met by an object before a copy of the workflow template can be
associated with it.
Business Objects
The Workflow Business Objects list displays only the objects associated with the workflow.
