You can configure the default criteria that appears in the search bar for each object type selected in the search menu. This allows you to set different opening search criteria for each object type to help search performance and usability.

You can change the default search criteria for an object using the objects API Entry Point as follows:

1. Search for the API Entry Point you want to edit, and select Actions > Update.

2. In the Default Search Criteria box, specify your search criteria. This can be any defining parameters or wildcards that you want to appear in the search box by default, such as a specific name or prefix.

3. Select the Apply Default Search Criteria option to apply criteria to the search bar.

• You must select the Redirect To Search Bar option in order for the API Entry Point object type to appear in the search bar menu before any default search criteria can be applied.

• If you leave the Default search criteria box blank, and select the Apply default search criteria option, no search criteria is applied in the search bar.

• If you do not select the Apply default search criteria option, your criteria is not applied and the existing default * all objects is applied.

• You must be an administrator to access the API Entry Points found in the System Administrator feature set.
