Learners obtain qualifications by successfully completing a qualification pathway. Learning admins create a qualification pathway by first naming it, associating it with a qualification type, and then building the qualification pathway from the top level down.

Qualification pathways can consist of one or more of the following components in the order presented here:

  • single-use or reusable competencies

  • proficiency level(s) - most basic proficiency followed by more advanced proficiency levels.

  • grouping(s)

  • learning module(s)

  1. From the left navigation bar, go to Qualifications pathways Qualification pathways icon and click Create.

  2. Enter a name and description for the qualification.

  3. If you want the Learner to perform steps in sequential order, regardless of role, check the Restrict sequence check box.

  4. From the Type drop-down list, choose the qualification type you want to associate with the new qualification pathway.

  5. If you want the qualification pathway to expire at some point, triggering retraining, perform the following substeps:

    1. From the Expiry time drop-down list, choose the time period for the expiry and then enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years associated with that time period.
When a qualification pathway expires, learners are prompted to retrain.

    2. From the Expiry time warning drop-down list, choose the time period for notifying users that the qualification pathway is expiring soon. Then, enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years associated with that time period.

  6. If you want to give users a certain amount of time to complete the qualification pathway, perform the following substeps:

    1. From the Duration time drop-down list, choose the time period for how long you want to give users to complete the qualification pathway. Then, enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years associated with that time period.

    2. From the Duration time warning drop-down list, choose the time period for notifying users that the qualification pathway is coming due. Then, enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years associated with that time period.

  7. Click Save.
