When considering which type of variable to use, it is important to consider the value going to be given to the variable and the potential reuse of the statement. If the same value is required to be used numerous times throughout the content, a reusable variable might be a good choice, especially if the statement is being used in an asset template. The value is defined once and reused each time the variable appears for an asset or within content.
Reusable variables in traditional content
If reusable variables are used in traditional content instead of a single use variable, the reusable variable is defined at the beginning of the document in the Reusable Variables list rather than at each statement, as shown in the following figure. The variable can be reused again in another statement within the document and because it was defined in the Reusable Variables List, it does not need to be defined again.
