About this task
Create new blocks and assign a tag to your block.
Before you begin
The document or document template must be open and in edit mode.
Procedure
-
In the document or document template, click +Item. The system displays the Quick add list.
-
Click the Type drop-down list, and select Block.
-
Type a title for the block.
This will be the first cell in the row.
When Search is on, remember to wait a few seconds for the Quick add search results to display existing blocks to maximize reuse.
-
Click Create.
-
To add a tag to your new block, click the ellipsis icon beside the block, and select Edit.
There can be numerous blocks with the same title name. The tag feature can be used to help identify the correct block if you need to use that block again. You can define a tag for your block when the block is in edit mode. The tag appears underneath the block when a document is in edit mode. Tags and tag text do not appear in published content to end users viewing it.
-
In the Tag field, type a description as an identifier for the block.
Tag text can be used to find blocks in quick add and find blocks in statement search. Tags do not appear in your content.
When the block is in edit mode, the content appears within a shaded area. A usage recycle icon displays in the upper-left corner. The usage icon can be used to identify the number of times the block is used and where.
-
Click Preview and Save.
Results
The block now appears in your document or template and can also be reused in other documents or templates.
