About this task

Modify the text, more details, or variable usage of a statement.

During statement modification, consider the following:

Area of change

Impact

Multi-language

When multi-language support is enabled.

Multiple language tabs appear. You can select a language tab to change the language for that statement.

A visual indicator is provided in the statement editor modal window to recognize if a language translation is available. If a translation exists, the language is bolded and displayed in blue. If there are no language translations, the language tab appears in gray.

Single-use variables

If the statement exists in other content and you change the text of a single-use variable within the statement.

The defined values for that variable are deleted in the other content.

Reusable variables

If you remove a reusable variable from a statement.

The variable is removed from that statement and wherever that statement is reused. However, the variable remains in the AcceleratorKMS database and other non-related statements.

Reference links

If the statement exists in other content and you change the text of a reference link within the statement.

The defined values for that link are deleted in the other content.

Training

When training is visible in the Training section.

Enabling this feature requires AcceleratorKMS Support. Work with your AcceleratorKMS representative to have this feature enabled.

Used in AcceleratorLXP learning modules and only visible to authors and reviewers in AcceleratorKMS

Always check the usage before editing a statement. Any change to an existing statement impacts all of the content where it is used.

that the Usage icon only appears when the statement is in use.

  2. In the Statement usage window, click through the tabs Content, Templates, and Blocks to identify other content that is impacted by the change.

You can click the content title to open the content in a new window to determine if the change is applicable.

Modifications to variables (single use and reusable) in statements causes loss of variable definitions in all content where the statement is used. When reusing an existing statement, do not change the variable name within the statement as this deletes all defined values for that variable in any content where that statement is used. However, if you do remove a reusable variable from a statement, the reusable variable remains in the AcceleratorKMS variable database so it can be used again.
