  • IsogenDB and SpoolgenDB projects rely on a relational database back-end and require access to a SQL database. Currently, only Intergraph Spoolgen and Intergraph Smart Isometrics support using these types of projects.

  • IsogenDB and SpooglenDB projects have a specific recommended machine configuration. See the Spoolgen Web API Installation Guide delivered on the Spoolgen Web API product media.

  1. Open I-Configure and select an isometric directory in the Project View panel.

  2. Click New Project on the horizontal toolbar to display the New Project Dialog.

  3. Type a name for the project in the New project name box.

  4. In the Application list, select IsogenDatabase. In I-Configure, IsogenDatabase designates a project that has a database managed through the Spoolgen Web API.

  5. Use the Available styles list to select the drawing styles to include with the project. The drawing styles that display depend on your selection in the Application list. By default, any drawing style that is suitable for the specified project type is selected. IsogenDB and SpoolgenDB projects must include the Import and Spool styles. To exclude a style, clear its check box.

  6. Click OK to display the New Project window.

  7. Set the path to the database in the Url box. The software attempts to establish a connection to the database. If the path is valid, the software displays a beside the Url box. If the path is not valid, the software displays a .

    • You use the following format for an IsogenDB project: http://server name/Isogen/V1.

    • You use the following format for a SpoolgenDB project: http://server name/Spoolgen/_api/V1

  8. Select an option in the Project ID Type list. This setting indicates what the project uses to reference pipeline files. You can select Pipeline Reference, File Name, or Reference and File Name. The default setting is Pipeline Reference.

  9. Optionally, type a description for the project.

  10. Click OK to create the new project and the specified styles. When processing completes, the software displays the new project in the Project View panel.

  • After you create the new project, you can use the Use Windows Authentication project default to control whether the software forces you to log in to the database using Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA). See Appendix: Project Defaults in I-Configure Help.

  • If needed, you can edit IsogenDB or SpoolgenDB project settings after the project is created
